Kettle Beef & Mashed Potatoes
Comfort food gets a good-to-gourmet upgrade with spoon-tender beef, a deeply savory gravy, and a splash of bourbon-kissed balsamic brightness. It is exactly the kind of slow supper that makes the house smell like someone has been cooking something special all day.
Ingredients
Method
- Place the beef and onion in a slow cooker. Whisk the Original Garlic, Chili Lime Garlic, Bourbon Balsamic, broth, and tomato paste until smooth, then pour over the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours, until the beef pulls apart easily with a fork.
- Transfer the beef to a platter and cover loosely. Whisk the cornstarch slurry into the cooker, cover, and cook on high for 10 to 15 minutes until the gravy is glossy and thickened.
- Spoon the kettle beef and gravy over mashed potatoes, then finish with a few peas or roasted carrots for a full comfort-food plate.

Kitchen tip: The beef and gravy are even better the next day. Tuck leftovers into a toasted roll with a little sharp cheddar for an unforgettable lunch.
