Cedar-Plank Apple Pork Chops
Pork chops and apples have always been a good idea—this version just gives them smoke, caramelized edges and a sweet-smoky garlic rub that makes the whole thing feel restaurant-worthy. The cedar plank quietly does the hard work while you take the compliments.
Ingredients
Method
- Heat grill to medium and preheat the soaked plank over direct heat until it begins to smoke. Move plank to indirect heat.
- Rub pork chops with Ellbee's Rosemary Olive Oil, Ellbee's Sweet & Smoky Gourmet Garlic, salt and pepper. Make a loose bed of apple slices on the plank and set chops on top; tuck remaining apples around them.
- Close lid and cook until pork reaches 145°F, 25 to 35 minutes. Brush apples and chops with Ellbee's Honey Ginger Balsamic Vinegar during the final 8 minutes.
- Rest chops 5 minutes, then sprinkle with thyme and serve with the cedar-roasted apples.
Notes
Time: 55 min
Kitchen tip: Choose a firm, tart-sweet apple. It will soften and caramelize without collapsing into applesauce on the plank.
