Cedar-Plank Bacon-Wrapped Zesty Chicken
Take ordinary chicken to the backyard’s VIP section. Zesty garlic, crisp bacon and cedar smoke give every bite a savory, just-charred edge, while corn and watermelon keep the plate feeling like the very best kind of summer supper.
Ingredients
Method
- Heat grill for two-zone cooking at medium heat. Place the soaked cedar plank over direct heat for 5 to 8 minutes, just until it starts to smoke; move it to indirect heat. Keep a spray bottle nearby for flare-ups.
- Rub chicken with Ellbee's Zesty Gourmet Garlic, Ellbee's Bacon Organic Olive Oil, salt and pepper. Wrap each piece with bacon and secure with a toothpick if needed.
- Set chicken on the hot plank, close the lid and cook until bacon is crisp and chicken reaches 165°F, 35 to 45 minutes depending on size. Grill corn alongside during the final 20 minutes.
- Brush chicken lightly with Ellbee's Bourbon Balsamic Vinegar during the final 5 minutes. Rest 5 minutes, then serve with corn and watermelon.
Notes
Time: 65 min
Kitchen tip: Use only untreated, food-safe cedar planks. If flames get lively, slide the plank to the cool side and mist the coals—not the food.
