Sweet-Smoky Pineapple Smoked Ham
This is the ham that makes the whole house smell like the holidays showed up early. Sweet-smoky garlic, pineapple and a bourbon-balsamic glaze build dark, glossy edges around tender slices—equal parts Sunday dinner centerpiece and next-day sandwich gold.
Ingredients
Method
- Set smoker for 250°F. Score the ham in a diamond pattern if it is not spiral cut. Stir Ellbee's Bacon Organic Olive Oil and Ellbee's Sweet & Smoky Gourmet Garlic together, then rub over the ham and into its cuts.
- Place ham in a disposable foil pan with pineapple chunks and orange slices around it. Smoke, loosely tented, until hot at the center, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
- Meanwhile, simmer pineapple juice, brown sugar and Ellbee's Bourbon Balsamic Vinegar until syrupy, 8 to 10 minutes. Brush ham with glaze every 20 minutes during its final hour of smoking.
- Rest ham 15 minutes before slicing. Spoon warm pineapple and pan glaze over the platter, then finish with thyme and pepper.
Notes
Time: 240 min
Kitchen tip: A fully cooked ham only needs to be heated through. Keep the smoker gentle so the slices stay juicy instead of drying at the edges.
