Tuscan Grilled Ham & Cheese
Crisp Parmesan-Tuscan butter, melty Monterey Jack, good ham and a sharp little hit of Dijon turn a basic grilled sandwich into something with real personality. It is the fast lunch that makes you stop pretending lunch cannot be special.
Ingredients
Method
- Mix butter, Parmesan, Ellbee's Tuscan Gourmet Garlic and Ellbee's Garlic Olive Oil. Spread the outsides of the sourdough with the Parmesan butter.
- On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer Dijon, ham, Monterey Jack and tomato. Drizzle the tomato very lightly with Ellbee's Tomato Basil Balsamic Vinegar, then close sandwiches with the remaining bread.
- Cook on a griddle or skillet over medium-low heat until the crust is deeply golden and the cheese melts, 4 to 5 minutes per side. Press gently rather than smashing the sandwich.
- Rest one minute, then cut diagonally and serve while the cheese is still gloriously stretchy.
Notes
Time: 20 min
Kitchen tip: Medium-low heat is the move: it lets the Parmesan crust turn golden before the cheese has a chance to escape.
