Zesty Black Bean Chili
This is the hearty, deeply red chili that makes a grilled-cheese sandwich feel like a proper plan. Zesty garlic leads the flavor, chipotle adds smoky depth and a touch of habanero oil lets you decide exactly how much heat the table can handle.
Ingredients
Method
- Heat Ellbee's Habanero Olive Oil in a Dutch oven. Brown ground meat with onion and bell pepper, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in Ellbee's Zesty Gourmet Garlic, Ellbee's Chipotle Herb Gourmet Garlic and chili powder for 30 seconds.
- Add black beans, chili beans, tomatoes and juice. Bring to a low simmer and cook uncovered for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and glossy.
- Taste and adjust salt. Serve with cheddar, sour cream, scallions and buttery crackers.
Notes
Time: 75 min
Kitchen tip: Chili tastes even better the next day. Cool it quickly, refrigerate overnight and reheat slowly with a splash of broth if it has thickened too much.
